Content Credentials verify tool
Drop in an image, video or audio file and read any attached C2PA manifest, including the signing organisation and recorded edits.
What it is
The verify tool reads a C2PA manifest and shows it in plain language: the signing organisation, the tool that produced the file, and the edit chain. It is the quickest way to see whether a provenance claim is actually attached to a media file. A file with no manifest is not evidence of anything; manifests are stripped by many upload pipelines.
When to use this entry
Use it to inspect an image, video or audio file for Content Credentials.
Questions
If the tool shows no credentials, is the file human-made?
No. Absence means the manifest is missing or was stripped, not that the file is authentic.
